Taking Online Classes

There's a lot of positives, along with negatives when taking an online course.  Obviously, the biggest perk would be doing it from the comfort of your own home. If you like me, its a huge benefit being able to do my classwork while being home with my girls. That saves time, along with money for childcare.  It could also be a relief if doing online classes, meant you didn't have to interrupt your current work schedule.  We'd like to think our employers would be more then willing to work around your classes, but that doesn't always happen.  Another perk for myself is being able to take more classes or if a campus class was full I could take it online instead.
Now, lets talk about some of the negatives when taking online classes.  The biggest disadvantage is not having your teacher in front of you, to ask those questions when confused or to get more information.  You have to have patients, while waiting for a response.  It dose cost more taking an online class, you'd think it should be cheaper because your not using the campus everyday, but teachers are still having to do the same amount of work.    "Surprise", usually you have more work in each lesson, because you still have to get participations points.  Sometimes, that's not mentions you new students when enrolling in online classes.  I have to say OTC, is very verbal on the expectations of online students, and usually it's clear online classes are harder.  The class work/assignments are usually the same, but online you have to be an organized, self discipline, willing to ask questions, etc.  You have to stay on-top of everything, because it's easy to get behind or forget about an assignments.    So just remember when taking online classes, there are a lot of positive and negative situations.  I'm sure my fellow classmates could make a huge list of them all. Thank you .
